X5ish is on a distinguished road
Ist timer seeking advice.

My search for a quiet and luxurious SUV has settled on an 06, X5. Kalahari Beige with Beige/Sand-Dark Wood Interior with the Premium and cold weather packages and 44k miles. Buying it through CarMax way less than dealer, with a 60 month/103k ext warr. I've not driven it yet as they have to bring it in from another location but did drive an 05 on their lot. The 06 appears to be good and after we drive it, should be a go. CarMax has a 30 day, "fix anything" period, then manf or ext warr kick in.
This one should have 6k BMW warranty left and should expire sometime in 09.

I'm asking your opinions on how to proceed and what to look for after the purchase. Would you take it to a BMW dealer for checking over? I'm hoping records are with it for servicing "etc" but will not know until I see for myself.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
