Matching Fog HID to Angel eyes

I have a 04 4.8is. What HID fog lamps do you recommend to match the OEM head lamps? Is there anything else I need to get other than the actual bulbs (I am a car/x5 noob)?

Please include brand and part numbers if possible.

Thanks!

4500K is the what the factory HIDs are...

You will have to get an HID kit which will include the bulbs, ballasts, etc.

Do a a search on here for "HID fog light" and you will find plenty of info - see my HID fogs below

By the way, WELCOME to xoutpost.com!!

So I can't just replace the bulbs, I need the whole setup?

Not if you want HID fogs. The original fogs are not HID so you need the whole HID kit.

i mean you could get 'xenon-match bulbs' but in my opinion spend a bit more and get HIDs. everyone always starts out with them, they look good at first, then you realize they don't really match and your better off with HIDs.

Do you think there's a big difference between the xenon-match and HIDs particularly since I don't plan to upgrade my OEM bi-xenons?

So are you saying you do not have HID headlights??

Xenon-match bulbs are basically regualr halogen bulbs with a blue coating on them to make them appear closer to the color of the HID headlights. The problem with them is they do not last very long - I was replacing mine every couple of months. By the time you replace a year's worth of bulbs, you could have paid for a HID kit.

if you dont have projector lense, dont bother with HID. It will scatter the light everywhere and you would blind the oncoming traffic.

This is NOT true specifically in this application - the X. I upgraded my 04 and it does not have the projector fogs. Others have done it too. No problems with people flashing me. There is also an adjustment to aim if someone is concerned about this.

OP - I don't know about those xenon-match bulbs but will tell you that if you get HID get the 4500K to match the yellowish stock xenons. Because if you get 6000K (cool/diamond white) it will not match - contrary to what you might read elsewhere.
