Congrats! Sweet 4.6is.

FWIW, I have to agree with Twins and LeMans, Please don't paint the trim blue. It lookes way too riced out, IMO. Keep it classy. I guess as Twins said, if you really want to, then do it and don't listen to me. Just my $0.02 though. Congrats either way.

Don't let others sway you. Do what you like. I can appreciate the color-match and it doesn't look too bad. Everyone has their preference. I know people that hate wood trim in cars and I personally love it. There are 11 different factory finishes for the E53 X5 and people have also done carbon fiber to the mix. So you've got lots to choose from. Some look better with certain leathers, etc.

If anyone wants to swap their aluminum trim for my wood trim I'll also throw in some cash to sweeten the deal let me know. =)

hey also guys since I have your attention, I noticed when i push the button to fold in the mirrors they fold in but then fold right back out. Am I doing something wrong??? I thought when I push the button they would just fold right in until I push it again to fold them out.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I must admit I'm more smitten with the car than I was expecting. The color really does it for me.
Having the wood painted estoril is probably cheaper than buying it. I was thinking of having mine done all in Estoril too since the steering wheel was already done. I think getting a used set out of a wrecked X5 would be the best bet as I'd like to save the wood if it doesn't come out well.

Great looking car and welcome.Swap the trim or paint it to whatever you like after all your the one who's going to be driving that succer not us and for what its worth i would go with the silver imo.If you do swap it out good luck with the center console trim mind as i recall that was a bitch of a job to take out, but worth it in the end.I changed mine from wood to alluminium/silver.
