Physical Difference Between the E53 & E70

For those that wonder what's the overall physical difference between our E53 X's and the newer E70's then check out this very well presented piece of footage depicting just that. Dunno 'bout you guys but I reckon the front on shot of the E53 looks way better and meaner, I'm not just saying that because I've got one, just an observation and my honest opinion. Our brethren over the fence will have a different opinion and I respect that. I'm surprised actually how much longer the E70 is.
Bottom line, both X's are the nuts

I saw that here. I think LeMans posted it a while ago. I still think it's pretty cool. I hated the E70 when it first came out. The design has grown on me and I've never looked back as far as the performance goes. I was just admiring the lines on the nose and the stance yesterday. That being said, my Sterling Grey E53 will always have a special place in my heart.

I think that's because of the grill. The E53's grill makes it look like its nostrils are flared.

I still prefer the E53, E70 is nice but I think it looks too much like a version of the X3 without a squished hood (they're too similar now.) E53 still looks like an SUV (sav, whatever) whereas the E70 looks like it's trying to be a crossover SUV/Minivan.

But hey, I'd still drive one when the E53 is being worked on if someone wants to give me one.

i like em both but i prefer the e53 styling more. like xe0s said the e70 looks a bit more crossoverish, which i don't like.

I seem to prefer the e53.

Always cornfuse the e70 and X3.

when I see the e70's in the parking garage I can't tell if they are x3's till I'm right on them. But, the quirks and "features" that I don't like on my e53 seem to have been addressed. I really do like the e70's overall though and will likely add one to the mix when the e53 tells me its time.

I like the more "truck-like" look of the E53... as noted earlier the E70 looks more like a crossover (isn't that what SAV means?) that's too stubby.

The only view I hate on the E53 (and love in the E70) is the view from the rear... which is what the other drivers see most often

The E53 is definitely meaner looking due to the wider lower grill.
