I purchased a 2005 X5 3.0 about three months ago. I bought it from a dealer affiliated with a BMW dealership and with the new CPO program on all '05 and '06 X5's with under 60K miles I was able to get the car certified for a total cost under any other X5 in my area.
While searching X5 World I came across an Article that UCrewX5 posted regarding the BMW Vehicle Inspection Guidelines and Standards. Here is the reference link:
BMW CPO Inspection Guidelines.
Am I to assume that this document is what the dealership should have done to certify my vehicle? I paid to have the car certified but reading through this there are quite a few items they absolutely did not do. Do they have discretion on what they do and don't do???
