You did not post links but the description sounds like E70 Y spoke. You will need hubcentric rings to fit on E53. Wheels set alone are usually $700-$900.

Without knowing the offset there is no way to tell if these will fit or not.

The hub size of the E53 is 72.56, so you'll need to get a set of hub centric rings to adapt to the 74.1 hub size of these rims

The OEM tire size is 275 40 20 for the front and 315 35 20 for the rear.

Those rims are basically style 214 knock-offs. I have an OEM set of 214's and they look great on the E53 - see http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...tyle-214s.html

Installing the hub centric rings is a piece of cake and can be done by yourself at time of install. Just insert them into the hub as you are mounting the rim.

ucrewx5,

good looking x. so do you have the staggered set up on your x. because the ones i am looking at on ebay have staggered setup 20x10 in the front and 20x11. is that set up ok? will it mess up the smooth ride?

there are 2 type polycarbon or aluminun alloy. BMW Hub Centric Rings (74.1-72.56) . which one did you get and recommend?

the ones you looked at on ebay are aftermarket. you shouldnt be paying that much for aftermarket. original take off dont even cost that much. just my two cent. you might want to take a little more time to find a better set at a better price.

Those wheels are replicas listed for both E53 and E70 so maybe they fit the E53 without the need of the hub rings. Get in touch with eBay seller and ask him.
