Interesting end result. You obviously didn't have nav before, and I've seen a few similar setups. I wonder why no one has installed the Pioneer system that was OE BMW in Europe that fits in the radio slot without affecting the rest of the dash. I always thought it looked great and I'd think it would require a lot less work.

BTW, welcome and just saw your pics...very nice ride. Can you posts some shots of your rear DVD setup? Is it factory or DIY?

Working to build my own bezel for my Alpine IVA-W205. Lot of sanding let to do and then paint...

How did the installer mount the dvd player in the rear floorboard? Is it just screwed into foam or mounted with velcro? I wonder why they put it there and why they didn't make a slit to run the dvd cable under the carpet?

The bezel.....well, the idea is there, but the execution mediocre. The way they shaped the bezel before wrapping it in simulated leather wasn't to great. The cut on the bezel for the right side of your unit isn't straight...really ruins the whole effort.

$250 USD for that bezel? How many of them has he sold? I wonder if maybe you were his first customer for a piece like that?

$379 USD is not the greatest deal for that particular install. Considering the radio comes out rather easily, there is a plug and play harness that can be fitted for the vehicle, the dvd player mounting doesn't look difficult, and the bezel has minor flaws, i'd say you paid the typical price for a basic installation from best buy.

Aside from that, the unit you have is awesome. I wish BMW's could accept a double din nav unit without having to look aftermarket or out of place.
