Broken Gear Lever Shroud Base

Has anybody else had a broken gear lever shroud/boot base ??

I noticed mine just recently especially when shifting over to Sport mode the front left hand corner lifted up out of its proper position in the console. I pushed it back in only to have it lift out again after shifting the lever. I also noticed it moving out when I selected D from P.

I pulled it out and it appears that it has broken on the LHS just near a clip of some sort. Is this something that could be simply Superglued back together or am I looking at a new base ??

Here is the quick fix of my DIY.
use the liquid clue to clue the broken base and losing up the stitch on the top of the leather boot and stretch it out to make the boot a little longer so it give the boot more room when you pull/select gear that will keep the base stay in place.

Thanks Tom,
I'll give that a go. I just hope the top ring is easy to loosen that stitching. Seems strange though because I haven't done anything to the the shroud in order for this to happen.

Hey Tom,
I fixed the broken base with Supa Glue just like you said. It's as good as new and I've saved about $70. The stitching at the top is not there and in fact it looks like the leather is sealed somehow into the top ring, so loosening up the stitching was not an option. The gear lever comes straight off with a steady strong pull.

Thanks again
