Does anyone dislike the 4.8is exhaust tips??

I am looking to buy a 4.8is in the near future. Been looking around at 2004-2006 models. The one thing I don't like about the truck is the exhaust tips. Yet, everyone on the board seems to love them. I prefer dual round tips. I see several people switch to the 4.8is style tips. I assume I could remove the tips and put on dual round tips to fit the 4.8is exhaust?

I wish I had your problem because I'm actualy looking for the 4.8is tips for my '06 4.4i. If you like the round ones you can go with the ACS Style shown below:

Sure, why not. A little cutting and welding will do the trick.

YES! Someone who thinks this too! I was very surprised that everyone on X5World loves these oval tips. To me, they seem kinda out of place with the rest of the car. I've grown to like tho, but I always thought they should have been BIGGER quad round chrome tips like in an M5 or M3. The current dual oval tips are reminiscent of the older ACS oval tips. Its not so bad so I'll leave well enough alone!

Just glad I'm not the only one! They do remind me of ACS exhaust which I never liked. Does anyone know a decent place to buy large round tips? I always liked the look of the larger, supersprint round tips.

Or has anyone replaced those HUGE mufflers with magnaflows or something that has a bit more bark?

BTW, I just got my xpipe in so I'll be putting that on today! WHooohoo!

If you can post a audio clip. I want to hear what a stock 4.8is sounds like with the X-pipe. What size pipe did you get?
