And with a name like “Skiboats”, I’d have guessed that he’d know that skis for each individual must be proportionate to that person’s height and weight. Seeing as how he has no idea the size of either person riding the skis, I’d have to guess he just wanted to be included in the post.

I was just funning. I like Salomons, although I personally ski a Nordica Hot Rod Top Fuel. Like the car too!

Well written and structured response.

I hear you re the desire to mod, stand out and to be different, but their is also a fine line between going overboard and spoiling the ethos that BMW's have (see recent ghetto thread). Yours by the way is catagorised in the latter along with pretty much everyone else here on the forum.

PS: I thought you might have been mogul skiing with those shorter skis.

I figured as much. Heard of Nordica skis but what is a Hot Rod Top Fuel? Thanks for the compliment too!

Mmmm... ... former=1st, latter=last ... Are you saying everyone on the forum falls into the overboard, spoiled ethos ghetto category? BTW there were a few moguls on that trail but it was more vertical than anything... maybe like a 65 degree vertical

Here you go Hot Rod 78 Top Fuel | SkiNet.com: The Ultimate Online Resource for Ski Gear, Ski Travel, Ski Action.

This is a great eastern ski for larger or aggressive skiers. Mine are from 2006 same as above, the new ones are about the same but different graphics. I am a big guy and always skied a full race GS, but after buying these I would never go back.

They have been very well liked by many with lots of good reviews.

The point of personalization is to have your car NOT look like anyone else’s. Case in point Rasta’s dearly departed X, Shanequa. I passed Rasta on a busy 6 lane street and saw his X for all of 3 seconds. I’d never seen him before in person but I sure knew that X from these posts and I told the person I was riding with his exact screenname. And I knew who he was upon 1st sight because his X was exclusive. I hit Rasta up on the pm and he said he’d seen me as well but I hadn’t posted pics at the time so he didn’t know who I was. ... So I encourage you to be individuals. And don’t be afraid of what others will say even if you DO look ridiculous with an E53 X5 pickup truck with 26” chrome spinners, flip-up doors and headlights from an X6...
Point proven again. Thanks RR for proving my point... http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...-haven-ct.html

Not sure I get the path here. 3.0, with 68k miles 12 months ago, spend 7k to get 100hp, still have a 6 cyl and use M badges

Why not just take all the mod $ spent plus the 7k and get a non poser (engine) version?

Sorry, I like the look except the badges but I don't get the path to power and money for this vehicle. Given the miles on it already adding another 100hp could make the engine detonate and self destruct. Adding turbo or a super charger to a higher mileage engine is a potential recipe for disaster.

A big engine poseur maybe, but the truth is I haven’t finished modding and I’ve been researching forced induction solutions. One of which offers 100+hp extra for less than $7000. So maybe it will soon live up to its big engine look.

Okay, someone please explain to me how putting ///M badges on an X5 is being a "poser"? There's no such animal as a ///M X5 is there (as of right now)? (No, I don't really want you to explain okay)

How is that different from somebody with a 3.0/4.4 putting on a 4.6/4.8 kit?! To me, that's closer to being a "poser" because there ARE actual 4.6/4.8 models - regardless whether they did not add the actual 4.6/4.8 emblems.

I'm not calling those 3.0/4.4 guys posers. I'm just saying, can we please just give it a rest. We can enjoy the forum without having to be so aggressive.

I'm stepping down from my soapbox now.
