LI-X5,

I just ordered it. I have to thank you very much for taking the time to post this and for not messing up your Karma by buying and reselling them for double. I have put more hours looking for this than I care to admit. Obsessive???... Yes! But it usually pays off.

Also, BMW customer relations told me this morning that they are on track to have them out by the end of the month as long as testing goes as planned.

So, are these exactly like the old hitches or are they a re-design? Do I need to get the harness too?

These are the old hitch "kits" with the wiring harness and module included. Hurry... they have had them in stock the whole time they said.

The new ones won't be out until the end of the month or so if testing goes well.

Oh .. OK .. Thanx ... to LI-X5 too!

EDIT: I wonder if the new ones will be better?!

EDIT: Now there's only ONE left! Craig Hacker of BMW of Bloomfield says they got lucky when BMW just did a move and they nabbed them. He also said BMW are not re-designing them. They will be exactly like the original hitch. He said BMW gave the specs for the old one to someone in May of last year to make and STILL nothing. He says DON'T expect to see the "new" ones out anytime soon.

When I ordered the hitch your employee told me her boss posted this. It's not very nice to manipulate BMW owners who are in a desperate situation when you knew the hitches were really coming from BMWNA. I could have picked up the hitch at local BMW dealership instead of paying shipping from New Jersey to California. I guess that explains why there was continously "2 left". What a jerkoff move! I hope people look at this and don't buy parts or cars from your dishonest dealership!

When I ordered it the girl told me her boss had posted this on x5world. A week or so later BMWNA called me to tell me they were shipping them to dealerships. Why would he call this dealership for a part he didn't even need? Makes sense to me.
