locking doors

Hi-
I have a 2005 X5...I want to program the locks so that the doors lock automatically when you drive. The owners manual states you can do this but does not give any clear instructions on how to do it....anyone know how? thanks!

.5 hrs at dealer

They have a short list PLUS a longer list with things like alarm disable with remote only.

+1.. The dealer it is. Make sure that they only charge for.5 hours. They may try to charge for a full hour.

.....just a heads up!

I thought the doors lock automatically when you start driving? Soon as I hit the gas and get over about 5 mph, the doors lock. My toyota door locks as soon as the gear is shifted to Drive.

Ron, probably the previous owner already asked the dealer to program it on your X, so lucky you!

Metgirl, just to give you an idea how the programming is done at the dealer, see this post from TwinsPoppa
