unusual behaviour of my x5

When I changed my cabin filter with the carbon filter to reduce/eliminate the air coming from outside, I noticed that the outside temperature is not accurate, is the filter has something to do with the filter replacement? Question no. 2, my x5 experienced slow moving when coming from full stop and then start accelerating even pressing the pedal to half and then after a while ti will accelerates fast based on the step on the pedal. Any advice, is it advisable to use it continuously? My x5 is 4.4i 2000 model Euro version. Thanks in advance.

The outside temperature you see is done via sensor in the front end of the vehicle. Usually in the air duct leading to the brakes on most BMWs. I'm actually not sure where it is on our X5s but some simple research could reveal that easily. I don't think your cabin filter replacement has anything to do with the sensor acting up. How much is it off by? And what are you using as a constant to determine that it is off?

the driving acceleration is normal i believe, just how the car is tuned. and i agree w. the above post, carbon air filter shoudnt have anything to do with it.

Try the throttle adaptation:

Or even the Tranny reset, which is below (if I remember correctly):

- Turn key to pos 2 but don't start engine
- Push down on the accelerator all the way and hold for 20 secs (should hear a click)
- Start the car and test drive.

Hi Twinspoppa! I've tried the suggestion of Twinspoppa and it works. Thanks again to x5world forum, it's very useful and saves a lot of expenses. More power!
