Haha - What is the official bulb type for the X5 Side Mirror Puddle Lights???

Haha - I'm going nuts. I am looking for the official bulb type for the X5 side mirror puddle lights. I'd like to change these to white LED.

I've search this forum, and it seems this 1 question has been almost avoided!

Is it a 1156? 1157? Something else?

Also looking at the bulb type, it looks like it needs to be a particular layout to fit properly.

I would prefer to order from 1157 1156 Superlumination.com leds (Automotive Replacement Light Bulbs, Headlights, Foglights & Lamps) as I am also ordering the license plate bulbs, so even an exact reference to a particular bulb would work great.

Haha, I'm going nuts! Thanks Guys!

Ernie

OK, it seems like they are 194's

Fitment into the casing seems to be particular. Any specific LED bulb work for anybody from autolumination?

Just curious - so you think that the bright white lights that the current models have for outside illumination are rice?

I'm not looking for blue or red, just want to update the exterior lighting of the vehicle to modernize it a bit.

Hey Guys,

As an update, I looked at a couple of different sites to determine a store that has a good reputation while having a nice stance with issues/wrong fitment.

V-LED's has a great site, which also shows the technical specs of each bulb (power, lumination, measurements)

I got these for the side mirror puddle lights:
V-LEDS HID WHITE 3 M-SMT 1.5W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158

This order is for a pair, and you can search online for different discount codes for the website.

Install was a breeze after figuring out how to remove the painted mirror cover.

I will post pics of the lumination at night, as well as a quick where-to-press to get off the mirror cover, as I've seen others who are very hesitant to pull it off. I was pressing pretty hard with no luck until I figured out a way that makes it very easy.

Some additional info if the below doesn't work:

For step one, see note after picture:

the best way to remove the cover i've found can be seen from the following pic - hopefully this helps:
