Probably just a bad joke gone worse. Glad to hear she's fixed now. I too just had to replace my DSC module (abs control). It sounds like maybe it had bad wheel speed sensor circuits and thought you were spinning your tires, thus cutting power and pulsating brakes. These vehicles can have some really unique problems due to the complexity of the systems. Sometimes the easiest way to fix it is to get the problem to cause the faults to store and get all the faults read and analyzed with the proper equipment.

I'm having the exact same problems. The car starts and idles perfectly but when I apply more than about 20% throttle, the engine cuts out and feels like the fuel is getting cut like it was hitting the rev limiter. If I don't apply more than 20% throttle, the car drives fine and shifts through the gears. I can even rev it up to redline in park as long as I don't apply more than 20% throttle. It also threw P0171 and P174 codes so I replaced the MAF with no success and the problem still exists but the SES codes have not come back.

Has it been confirmed this is a problem with the DSC modules / ABS control unit? Can anyone tell me the part number for this part?

that was definitely my problem - it has not surfaced since they changed the ABS control unit. I don't recall teh part # but can dig it up. It's anotehr not so difficult to do yourself job (I'm told) but you will need your car re programmed after it's installed. Good luck!

When the parts to repair cost as much as in these cases, it should be well worth it to have dealer diagnosis done so you don't change the wrong parts based on what someone elses problem was... Paying less than $200 to save up to $2000 seems right to me.

I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the car and discovered that the fuel pressure was dropping when I applied more throttle so I went ahead and changed the fuel filter. That solved the problem! Car runs perfectly now!

Fuel filters usually don't clog so dramatically but I think it was a result of the 2 failed fuel pumps I had 30k miles ago. Common practice is to replace fuel filters when you replace fuel pumps but they were replace under warranty and the dealer didn't do so.
