totally stumped

replaced, both cats, 4 02 sensors, still had cutting fuel/throttle at various rpm and not moving or shifting, couldn't get uphill, car would rev but no power, no changing of gears (had tranny recently rebuilt, took back to shop, they say gears shift perfectly couldn't reproduce my problem). drove the car a few days and sure enough the same symptoms, car is moving, hit the gas rpms get to 4500, no gear shift no additional power then get SES light. REad codes get P0172 and P0174. Read the forums folks say mostly likely MAF, just replaced the MAF took for a spin and the same thing just happened. I didn't push it the SES point yet, but I can reproduce. Any other thoughts or ideas? I'm gonna try fuel system cleaner, then maybe fuel filter but man I am stumped.

thanks

I'd like to see a fuel pressure guage while it is doing it.

kept driving it to force SES and I finally did (also Fail Trans Safe mode). Read the code and only had a single error code (using Actron) P0731 Gear ratio incorrect - this a new code, never had it before

gonna research that next

Weasel will become famous soon enough
May be worth paying the extra few bucks for dealer diagnosis, and asking your SA if it can be looked at by an experienced master tech to work on it so little things don't get overlooked by a less experienced tech.

took it to a Euro car specialist and they determined that it was the ABS control unit. They replaced it and after 2 days of driving the car seems to have fixed the problem.
