				x5 e53 lurch problem-does it damage transmission?
In particular it is noticeable on the diesel model due to the torque, I have posted the question in many places but nobody has answered alas….I got the lurch twice in 5000miles of driving and felt like I was rear ended! Just want to know if it is terminal for the gearbox? The review I have read below has frightened me, so many different takes on this like the gearbox is adaptive and learns your driving style????or you need software updates, but does it do any damage if left as is? http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/index.htm?md=44 thanks in advance |

Thanks for the reply but are you sure that it does not do any damage? I am used to sudden bump, it doesnt happen often at all, but am worried it will destroy the transmission.....despite this being more of a diesel issue if weasel is reading too can we have his expert input also?and anyone else kind enough to add comments?
