now i have a question about front sway bar links
i have taken a picture from butundo's post and see the design of this link... my question is this, what if someone made a full metal with no movement type of link that would prevent these from going bad.
because ive had these go bad on my X 3 times already (aggressive driving yes i know) and im getting pretty tired of buying these things, so now instead of buying them why dont i just build one? i weld and i feel i can weld something up to prevent movement to cause for a stiff ride up front. some people dont like there ride being too firm but i go with the harder the better? or i felt i can make something cheaper then what the dealer charges with the right parts? i dunno just an idea? if i mock one up and put it on my x and take pics would anyone be interested in buying some of these? only if i seem to have positive results off of it? how does that sound? everyone feel free to chime in

I would think (with the little knowledge I have) that if you freeze this "joint" then the pressure and stress put on the suspension will only travel to other components causing damage and premature failure. The added stress could also cause system failure in a more dramatic fashion then normal wear - in other words, your redesigned suspension system could fail without warning resulting in much more damage than a slowly wearing part would. My two cents.

i understand what ur saying but i feel that the only stress it would put on would be the sway bar tightening up and thats what i want for a more stability... i dont see how it would affect all the other suspension components considering its only attached to the sway bar and shock

The point of the joints is to allow the required movement as the links pivot and twist under normal operation. I would not think a solid link would last but half a day before bending under the pressure and causing damage.
On the other hand since you say you're handy with a welder... you could get some nice parts and make some heavy duty ones like this:
