service completed
hi everyone...just to update..brought vehicle in to dealer for low coolant level in reservoir and they pressure tested system and found that water pump was bad...i never had any leaks but dealer said they found some dry stains at bottom of water pump so they replaced it with a bmw remanufactured pump..work order states presssure tested the coolant system. Found water pump to be leaking replaced pump , fill coolant perform bleeding procedure.....i think they should have given me a new pump not remanufactured but i guess it is ok...part number 11-51-7-586-781...i also told them about shifting delay from 1st to 2nd when cold so they updated tranny software..work order states 0000555 int fault in diag system 882wpltb....they also performed complete vehicle update for car computer..work order states sib 24 01 06 as per sib perf complete vehicle update..they kept car for 2 days to complete work....maybe just my imagination but i liked the way it shifed before but will have to test a few days to make sure..it looks like they did a nice job but i will keep on eye out for leaks..2005 4.4 with 17k miles...thanks rob

Great info rob.
- BMW only uses remanufactured parts for repair work (water pump, nav computer, transmission, etc.). It's SOP. - That SIB references the harsh 2-1 downshift issue for some N62 X5's. It will be interesting to hear of any change in a 1 - 2 upshift. - Haven't heard of that fault code, maybe weasel can chime in on it. - |
