Being disabled put too much strain on our relationship so she "grazed in other pastures" whilst I was in Intensive Care.

$hit happens.

Gerry.

To straighten the facts, I have been disabled for 5 years and she had the car about 2 years. It also has 20" wheels. 303 bhp, auto transmission.

Gerry,

First & foremost you have my genuine sympathy if you have had to cope with all that you have mentioned.

Timings confusing but perhaps I am being thick.....Anyway not important now.

On a lighter note I see you have changed your forum signature so that you are no longer blowing kisses to all........ This was somewhat confusing when trying to work out if you were a Kerry,a Gerry or both

Hope you continue to enjoy the car & thanks for sharing ideas

If I may answer (not necessarily for the OP), being in a similar region of the UK, I can tell you that it is simply our weather that causes all the rust and shite on our vehicles.

Salt on the roads from snow/ice etc, plus the copious amount of (I'm sure to some degree-acid) rain we get here.

We're both miles away from the sea so thats it I guess, our shite weather-nothing more. Mine is the same, like all my other previous cars over the last 20 odd years of ownership...

thanks, it had me wondering, as mine is as clean as underneath.

i wonder if that is the reason many have to do suspension repairs at what i would consider an early age, and may also be the reason for power train and electrical issues that from my limited experience have not heard of here in Australia
