Yep, there are always better option and CCFL is probably the best ;-) I always envy how great mtX5's AE look

If you just want white AE, you should be able to change the bulbs just like this guy did. Changing the AE on these lights to CCFL requires you to bake / heat up the lights and open up the case.. etc. I personally do not have the confident to do it but there are many instruction on this from this forum.

There used to be another seller on ebay, not fishcake but had a very similar page, and he offered to install CCFLs before shipping on the same headlights. it was $400 +$100 more for CCFLs.. not a bad price in my opinion.. wait for him to pop back up.

otherwise the orange ones aren't too bad, simon's came out great

Simon, I'm a Finance student, so technical work isn't my thing. I'm the "pay up" guy.

So as mtX5 said if there's a seller who'd do it all for me I'd be really happy. I guess I'll either wait for him, or lose my patience and settle for the OEM look.

$500 is within my price range, I'm about to sell Range Rover rims so that should fancy up my budget.

Sure. I was on the same boat

Just make sure you buy with credit cards and they cover you if things go wrong.

Do post pics when you get them

Jedi,
Just make sure if these headlights come from the same supplier as Simon that they are well aware of the LHS drive situation that you have as Simon's X has RHS headlights fitted.

mt,
Wow your A/E's really do look sweet close up. CCFL is definately the way to go, nice n white n bright

Simon,
Given that your upgrade h/lights are after market and very good ones at that, are you actually able to bake open them like oem ones. Is a similar glue used or what ?? Are the plastic parts and housing used able to stand the 250c oven temp ??

I too have the same lights bought from a guy (Prestige Home & Auto)(Trusted Ebay seller) in Australia and with the default yellow A/E's that in my opinion looks good"! I've had them for aprox 3 months with no problems so far"!
I agree with " simoncpw" when he says that the build is not as good as the original Hella light's but it's way better than many other after-market options
all the original feature ie: Auto Leveling still work
