will these tires fit?

hi

I have a 2001 3.0i. I have 255 55 19 tires for the front of my car and was wondering if they would fit ? it used to have 255 50 19. any input would be great.

thanks

would it look dumb if i had 255 55 19 in front and 285 45 19 in the rear? i want thicker tires for better ride but will it look raised in the front? love ur car motordavid i have almost the same exact setup.

Huh? ...those are the sizes that come oem with most BWM oem 19" staggered wheels.
Those are the tire sizes I have in my pics.

Your orig question on the 55s instead of 50s remains the same:
yes 55s will fit fine in place of 50s. Odd that you had 50s anyway.

I must be mis-understanding some part of your multi-part question...

y`all got me confused at 2am , 255/50R19 front , 285/45R19 rear is spec as i recall .
if you want 255/55R19 you will to find rear fitment with same circumference .

...JeeezzH Murphy! I went back and re-read this thread, including my own gibberish.
I must admit the OP had me confused; I suspect it was induced dementia.

To the OP:
Yes, you could use 55 aspect in place of the orig. 50 aspect front tires, which would give
the front end a 3- 3.5% "increase" and difference from the original size.
Would it hurt? I don't think so...some here would suggest that the slight rolling circumference
difference will affect our old fashioned AWD...I am not certain it would have a big effect, but
it's your call. What I don't get is why you would want to go to a 55 aspect ration as opposed
to the orig. 50?

Yes, my '01 3.0 X has BMW oem style 132s on it: front tires are indeed 255/50-19 and, the
rear tires are 285/45-19.

I re-read your orig question and still don't get it...
Sorry for the confusion. This is all the info/opins on this topic, that I can provide.
I need a laudanum and soda.
