Depending on this delta loss of power per year, my X5 should start beating old Lamborghini's. This is awesome!

Well then I guess you have your answer.
But honestly how would any of us know how many hp your x5 lost in these 8 years. The question is an arbitrary one. It's your vehicle and we have no idea what kind of condition it in. If it's a matter for concern then the best advice might be to get it tested. Quote:

Glad your friends are automotive experts...
Little data on the web via a cursory search. What I do know is that almost all of the Long Term Road Tests done by the major car mags show 0-60 and qtr mile times going down over the usual 40,000 mile test run. All Fwiw. I would worry about other stuff, actually. GL,mD

If you don't tune your engine often, maybe some dirty plugs, dirty filters, old components, etc... can cause some loss of power... just maybe.. i mean i don't think that a 320 for example from year 1988 with 300Kmiles on it is as tuned and ready to perform as a new 320 2009 out of the factory.. just common sense.. never actualy plotted the hp of any car over the years :s
