Headlight question

I am serious to ask all of you this question regarding my 2004 X5 headlights lense issue:
My X5 headlight is foggy inner look old and unclear. I am planning to fix this problem myself or by indy BMW body shop.
I have read procedure posted in this forum for baking headlight (it is for 00-03 version[!?]) but my headlight is 04. Can I follow this procedure for my 2004?
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...0-2002-x5.html

What's your suggestion?

Thanks/.

LW, look like you are living not far a way from me (I am from S. Jersey). I am confusing what you stated:
use some plastic polish? foggies are inside of the headlight house. Can you show more specific?
Thanks,

Unless condensation built up on the inside, the lenses are just foggy and hazey from being worn down from the elements over the years. If its true, about the condensation/fog/haze on the inside, bring it to the dealership, see if they will cover it.

Lightwerke, if i bring to dealer, they will tell me to replace a new pair.

mtx5, i agree with you that's why i mentioned 00-03 procedure but not 2004.
Is there anyway to fix this problem or repair instead of replace the entire new headlights?

Thanks,

if your still under warranty they should replace it at the dealer.

otherwise search the forum. there is something about 'vaccuming' the condensation out of your headlight. then i would add some silicone to, in a way, reseal the headlight.

mtX5, thanks for your tips. No, my x5's warranty was over (it's 52K).
I have searched forum and someone advised to use hair dryer, vaccum', some even said unplug the headlight high/low beam and using the air compressor to blow the condensation out etc.
I think using air compressor to blow out the condesation is the best solution, however, it is not wet or moisture, it's dry and shown some dry dirt water and foggy inside the headlight house. I am not sure it works if i use air compressor to blow.

Finally, we can't baking (oven procedure) to clean for the 2004 like others 00-03 headlight model?

LW, it means that there is only way: replace new headlight if dirts inside? the 2004 are expensive.
