X5 or no?
Ok so I have been looking at used X5's, for a second auto (daily driver). I have a really clean 2002 4.4L I am looking at, just under 70,000 miles. I have read about all the tranny issues with the 4.4L.
Should I just stay clear of all 4.4L X5's, because of all the tranny issues? Or get a third party warranty to cover my ass? Do the 3.0L have a better track record, as far as tranny issues go? Or should I just find another suv besides the X5 to look for? Advice would be much appreciated, thanks. |

The motor mounted to the trans makes no difference. That said, buy a CPO X5 and you'll be fine.
