Not sure if my recent problem was exactly the same as yours. Sometimes (very regularly) the audio would mute - radio, cassette, cd, tv, nav. The phone and voice control still had sound when the others would not. Sometimes (but not always) pressing one of the radio preset buttons would get the sound back for a while.

I thought the amp must be faulty so I decided to take a look. The amp is located behind the LHS panel in the trunk under the CD changer. I removed the CD changer but realised a fair bit more dismantling was needed to get the amp out and I didn't have enough time. I unplugged the wiring harness from the amp (which was accessible) and checked for any signs of corrosion on the pins but all seemed ok. I put everything back and what do you know - the problem has stopped (touch wood!).

Perhaps it was just powering down the amp that reset something or there might have been something dodgy with a connection that got corrected by unplugging and refitting the connector.

Give it a try - it might just work for you too.
