Lower Control Arm Replacement

Hi folks,

Fairly new here. got a lot help from this forum before.

Is there someone replaced the lower control before? It's 01 3.0i, and I've done a little reserach in the articles, but didn't find any, maybe I missed it.

The Inspection I report said:

THRUST ROD SUSPENSION BUSHINGS $375.00 RF LOWER CONTROL ARM WORN $375.00 NEEDS TIRES ALIGHNMENT $149.00, etc.

So I bought the OEM lower control arms and "Upper Control Arm Bushings" from Ebay, I believe I must have bought the wrong parts since I have no idea what Thrust Rod Suspension Bushing is . But I'll have to replace the lower control arms myself anyway.

Any suggestion or illustrated instruction is appreciated.

I have recently replaced the right lower control arm on my 01 4.4 ...fairly easy job

For the parts go to Bavauto.com and you will find the parts much cheaper and just as good

Part # : 31 12 6 760 275 Left Lower control arm

Part # : 31 12 6 760 276 Right Lower control arm

Could you briefly tell me the basic procedure of replacing the lower control arm?

Jack it up -> Take off Wheels -> Screw the nuts from both ends and then just replace it? How much force I should use when put the arm back on?

Pretty much....but I believe there is a special tool required that would make this DIY a lot easier...I used a small hammer to kind of push the arm down at its wishbone in order to get it out...Once you get it out, replacing the part should be easier..
