dismantling non electric door mirror unit?

Anyone know how to remove the door mirror/casing? I poked at the plastic at the bottom of the unit (non electric folding mirror) and managed to break it ! it was very flimsy plastic, it revealed four small torx screws, but taking those off won’t take the unit off, and it makes loud clunking noises when I fold it inwards when I park the car in a narrow road, that is why I want to take it apart,thanks
