Only or FL or CA...does the hot colors seems to be gotten.

I remember a time when I looked up the zoo and hinted at every salesperson for a upcharge to get a special order color

I'd say more like Florida. California cars all seem to be the same 3 colors.

<cough> <cough> Ahem...mine wasn't one of those 3 colors and it was a California X5!

Did carbon black have the same $2500 upcharge that imola red did?

Carbon black is cool b/c, as its name implies, it has those carbon paper color tones to it (bluish at one angle, black at another). Add in that it is a metallic paint and it can be spectacular in the correct light.

Now if it only came with the fresh off the mimeograph machine smell!

I too think the color is awesome -- but no warranty, has a production date of 09/05 -- my 2005 X has 06/05 and was sold to me with 38k miles, all options except load floor with CPO, remaining factory warranty and the extended maintenance plan out the door for $29k back in December 2008 (BMW also had the .9% finance and two payments included at that time) -- for the BIN price to be $32k because of a paint job, to me, that's overpriced.

Santa Monica BMW had a carbon black 2006 4.4 about 3 months ago with all options, CPO, still remaining factory warranty and 16k miles for $37k -- that is a heck of a lot better deal the "buy it now" (most likely his reserve price) this dealer is asking....

Not trying to debate the specifics on color, but to each his own. I would rather get a 4.8is for that price...

When the paper is still damp. Ahh, the smell of grammar school.

*Sitting back waiting for the youngins to ask what a mimeograph is*
