Noob question?

I have been searching for the manual for a 01 X5 but I can't seem to bring it up. I bought my X on April 17 w/o a manual! So I'm just search through the web for things I need to know or is looking to know.

Now I have these 2 buttons that I truthfully dont know what it does.

the DSC and PDC buttons underneath the Climate Controls. Can anybody enlighten me to what this buttons do?

Thanks

DSC disables Dynamic Stability Control, and PDC disables the annoying Park Distance Control beeping.

That makes sense!

So basically Dynamic Stability Control will eliminate the slip on the wheels if you happen to spin tires?

More or less....DSC monitors each wheel and controls slippage by applying brake or limitiing power. It prevents wheel spin to assist vehicle control.

Imo, the only time one might want to turn off DSC is when fighting through deep snow and one
wants controlled wheel spin vs. the DSC cutting in and reducing wheel drive... I didn't know that
'01 Xs had PDC, as I didn't get that gizmo.
