CHECK BRAKE LININGS Brake light reset for 2003 4.4

Hello all,
I've just replaced 4 rotors/pads and 2 sensors on my 2003 X5 4.4 and cannot reset the brake light, like in my previous 2001 X5 3.0 or my 2000 323i, procedure was turn the key into 1st or 2nd positions keep there for 30 seconds (some say 2-5 min)then do not turn the engine on..
Tried all of that and none works for my 2003 4.4 is there a new darn trick they've introduced? Another BMW owner suggested that it takes a while until it resets by itself, it's been a week and I've disconected the battery.Any help is appreciated.
