02 4.4 trans failure
Started shifting erratically, got the trans failsafe message last week, took it to the dealer and they say internal failure, requires new transmission. I spoke with an independent and he said they crack drums all the time. Dealer wants 9.3K Indy wants 3.8K Have a call in with BMWNA for goodwil waranty (less than a year out and 70K on the odo). I have read other posts with folks getting estimates of 4-5K from the dealer. Is mine gold-plating the repair or have they really gone up that much?
