EURO EXHAUST MUFFLER BMW M3 325I 328I 525I 540I Z3 X5:eBay Motors (item 160333823835 end time May-15-09 06:24:39 PDT)
Do they fit nicely? Why so cheap? Anyone installed them? Direct fitment?

Those have got to be POS. 16.99 for a muffler? You can't even get that price for the cheapest regular steel muffler at a muffler shot and these guys are trying to say it is SS for 16.99.
Please. Do a search around the web for these mufflers in use, you will find little if anything. Stick with known brands and remember, you get what you pay for. I would imagine these are crap and an installation nightmare. IMO.

Stick with the known brands. But that 16.99 is just a teaser price...they're getting you back on the shipping charges...so their specs on it being SS may be legit. The rest (sound, flow, etc) is a toss up.

I've had them since late July. They were not suppose to fit. I went to 3 diff... Exhaust shops and this guy charged me $150 to install both of them. The guy spend a good 1.5 hours on each exhaust. On a 4.4i they sound very good for the cheapness but, i want it to be louder so im installing an X-Pipe. |

At some point you're going to want software because if you keep opening the exhaust you're going to literally kill of your bottom end grunt since the ECU can only adapt so much. After the mods i've done to the motor in my 7, I can't spin the tires for my life off the line, but it's a monster above 3.5k.

I'm surprised they fit also. The stock X5 mufflers are so short, so it's nice to see something that works that isn't in the $1k price range. I have Magnaflow 14816's on my 7, but they're like twice as long as the stock X5 mufflers. I know w/ my Magnaflows that they started to gradually get louder over time, but finally settled. I wonder how these will do after 6 months.

Sobi...I've seen guys in 530's try to install the same Magnaflow 14815/14816's that we M5/540/740/750 guys have used, only to have it drone like mad on the I6's because of the decreased engine size. Anything you put on your I6 will have completely different results than it would have on the V8. The only way you're going to be able to search around for exhausts is to either look here or on the other bimmer boards and make sure you're looking at I6 specific threads. On my 7 I removed the resonator and replaced it w/ an x-pipe and the Mag mufflers...sounded like complete ass. After countless threads, it's either the V8 guys do the x-pipe or the mufflers, but not both (Magnaflow specific, I can't say for those who used $$Dinan$$, etc). Since you've already got tips, and I don't know if the I6 X5's even have an x-pipe (I don't see how they could based on the engine design), you're better of searching around for what's already been done and go from there.
