thanks for your help!

I just put a 5A fuse between the ECU and the power to the ballast. In case there is a problem it should take out the fuse.

Issues...still!

Ok, so I wanted to test my angel eyes before tapping into the ecu... Should they power up if you were to connect one end to pos and one end to ground? Sounds simple, but no go!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
The eyes themselves wouldn't light up like that, but hooking the ballasts up like that would/should light them up. That's how I tested mine.

no to be a smart ass but the ballasts have a (+) and a (-) terminal. First make sure using a volt meter or a 12v bulb your (+) terminal has power. Then connect the (+) wire from your ballast to the 12v source and the (-) to somewhere metal on the body for proper grounding.

Yes, I did that. I even tried it backwards..... nothing. Mine is the complete headlight assembly with the ballasts inside. The power to the ballasts is supposed to be supplied through the DRL plug.... Mine does not have DRLs, I went to the dealership and bought 2 plugs to fit the sockets that includes 2 -10" leads each. I plugged the new plugs into the DRL socket on the headlight and proceeded to attach one wire lead to a known Positive and the other to a known Negative/ground..... nothing! The headlight assembly itself has a small wire coming out of the bottom (it appears to be some kind of ground wire also).... I haven't tried grounding this wire (...yet). I does not make sense to me.... why you would have to have a secondary ground???

The other wire is probably some kind of relay control. In other words, connect (-) (+) coming from your ballast to a (+) and (-), then connect the third wire another power source that turn "on" one when the key is on (like the ecu wire). This is just a guess but that all I can think of. Did you not receive instructions with the system? Any one else any thoughts?

I have a small problem. We tapped into that same red/white wire and it worked great. We noticed it was a little odd that the angels stayed on for like 5 seconds after the key was removed from the ignition. While it appears that it has something to do w/ the photosensitive eye somewhere in the car because he angel eyes stay on overnight after it gets dark. Any other suggestions, otherwise i'm going to keep probing around and hopefully find another switched 12V.

The lights stay on for 5 sec... because you tapped it to ECU.The ECU will go to sleep mode after 5-10sec

That's what I thought too, but Sobi said he came out to his car lastnight after like 30 minutes and the angels were still on. I've found 4 other switched ignition wires, so at this point the only thing I can think to do is switch the tap to the other wire, send him home and see if it happens again tonight? The ONLY reason why I can think they've stayed on is if somehow I tapped into a switched 12V that runs the photoeyes for the dash or something...i'm at a loss.

EDIT - I forgot, but his X has the automatic headlights where they turn on automatically at night. I'm going to switch the tap from the red/white wire to red/white w/ gold bars.
