ok - trying that now. LOL. I'm sure it's in full anti theft mode or something. All this leave for 60 min in key position 1/2 killed the batt..


no one accidentally hit the code button, I hit it on purpose lol. Next time RTFM. Live and learn i guess.

apparently it was my cluster that needed to be reset. Hooked it up to the computer at my indie and reset computer. Seems like my sunroof is acting weird now - won't open, will open upwards (the vent position) but won't open back. The cover will go back, but will only go back 4 inches at a time. no more 1 touch etc.

Good to see you're up and running again, and the sunroof just needs to be reinitialized. Just hold the button up in the same matter as on the regular sunroofs, pressed in to the vent position and hold untill your finger wants to fall off. The sunroof will sit there for about a minute then go through the whole open/close routine including sunshade. Once it has fully stopped moving it should be as good as new.

so did you clear fault code in cluster , and do you rember the fault code ?

brought it to local mechanic he connects his laptop and run diagnostic test 4 bmw e53.it tooks only five min to reset.

The issue has been resolved. I left the key in ignition at position 1 for 60 minutes. Then removed the key, re-inserted it and started the car. It's all good now.
