Help needed to verify color code

I am ordering a AC-style roof spoiler off Ebay for a friend in Europe. The dealer is unable to run the VIN number.

Attached are some pictures of his X5 4.8is. I think it is Sterling Silver, code 472, but would just like to confirm.

Thanks in advance,
Hyder

You should find the color code on the door jamb of the driver's door.

Check the strut tower in the engine compartment or the metal bodywork piece in the engine bay located on the passenger side of the radiator.

My car is in the best body shop in town for lower rear tail gate paint, and for some reason they are way off in mixing the right color, they are saying there are 3 shades of BMW 472 color code , how is that possible?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
My guess is they didn't order it by code and just tried to mix it themselves. Maybe used the wrong color/amount of metalic flake.

they have 4 different shades of the Sterling Gray in their software, one darker than the other....the fourth one is the darkest.

Then on the paint code sticker under the hood there should be a -# after the last 3 digits which should depict the option. (If I remember right)

It's code 472 Sterling Gray just like mine. I installed my AC Schnitzer rear spoiler last month:
