Now, y'all know I didn't leave anything out in my letter to them. However, I resubmitted the info, and apologized about not being able to be brief in relaying my issues to them.

I will keep posting updates; isn't it nice to curl up to a good book once in a while?

I'm curious too, in regards to your service advisor, have you ever used them before? Since you gone to Manhattan BMW plenty of times in the past, haven't you established some kind of relationship with one of the advisors?

I dont know if I can include his name on this site. But I have been dealing with the same guy. For my 3, its always been on a cash basis for little things here and there, like maintenance and inspection, suspension work was done by an Indy. The X is under original owner's warranty. BMW extended warranties to 6 yrs/100,000 as well as extended maintenance. I had no idea until I went in for an accesory and at the time I needed no service. I purchased Lady from a non BMW dealership and purchased a third party warranty, so I still have that coverage as well. Pardon my ignorance, but is the original owner's warranty, the same as a CPO?

The 2 best BMW dealers in NY are Hassell in Freeport and Wide World in Spring Valley. I can attest to Hassel... i've been there twice and no problems. Even after my repair at Hassel they called me the next day just to see if I was satisfied. I've heard some horror stories with BMW Manhattan and BMW of Bayside.
Dee - nothing wrong with a little light reading.

Rmak - thanks for this post. I didn't know Hassel was that great. I almost bought a 4.8 from them and they are the closest dealer to me. I have to bring in the X for them to fix the mirrors folding issue and my sun roof isn't closing "automatically" like it used to. you know the 1 touch actions? It moves 3-4 inches and stops even if i'm holding it down.

Thanks Weasel.....they thought they had me

Rasta, I had been going to them long before I came to this forum, solely becasue I live in Manhattan and had no issue with them until I needed work done under warranty. Don't worry I love to read and write.

I think I'm almost as confused as you are. So is your X5 under the original owner's warranty OR the BMW extended warranty OR a 3rd party extended warranty? How about this, what is your car's date of production and current mileage?

Go ahead and mention his name, you already mentioned the dealership. [meant sarcastically]

I see it is all the same around the world anout the BMW dealers Before this thread I thought that only Russian dealers prefer to steal money without even trying to allocate properly any problem. Now I see that in the US the same sh*t happens

8/30/2003 production date; 91,000 miles purchased at 87,00 a year ago. Didn't really care about the miles as my 3 still runs like a dream. Maybe it was my naivity, I fell in love with car and the price. I purchased a really good 2 year warranty, and at the time I had no idea that the car was still under BMW warranty until this year. Orginal owner's warranty was extended to 6yrs/100,000 was what I was told by BMW. Their exact words were, Dee you are still under warranty until 8/30/2009 or 100,00 miles, whichever of course comes first.

As for the SA's name, I dont really feel comfortable posting (many sites dont allow personal info anyway, the dealership is public) Besides, I would hate for the guy to blog about a problem with a customer and include my name. In addition to that, he will find out soon enough that I logged a complaint, once this investigation gets underway. He thinks that I'm just going to eat what he did, as he hasn't heard from me anymore and the car hasn't come back. When I first wrote the letter to BMW NA, I didnt even include his name, they replied wanting his name so I gave it to them. I know that he is doing me wrong and feel betrayed because I thought we were cool, but uh....I see that "GAME" comes in many different forms. Im straight, so I expect others to be; Im learning.

Damn Armen in Russia too?....
