Timer/alarm option?

Hi folks!

Just got got my 2006 X5 4.8 (33k miles) about a month ago and I'm still trying to figure out all the different settings. I already learned a lot from these forum pages (thanks to every contributor!!!!!! ), but came across one thing that I could not find an answer for:
Once every hour (as far as I can tell), the dashboard beeps at xx:59 (e.g. 1:59, 2:59, and so one). I have not been able to modify/turn of this feature.

Does anyone know where to disable this 'alarm'?

I have the time set to the 24h format, the nav software is V32.

Do you have navigation? I think it is in the settings. Can't remember exactly but take a look in the owners manual its probably there.

I don't have Nav in mine but it is an hourly alarm. It is supposed to key the driver into hourly news. It can be disabled using the BC, it is called timer.... not sure where it is at on the Nav though.

I found mine through the nav but I'm sure you can change it using BC. Just check the manual.

Switch the key for position 0 (off) press and hold the left bottun on the dashboard and then switch to position 1, when you see a new menu release the press, press again through the menu from 1 to 22, i think it is number 17 or 18 , then change the tune by pressing the right button.
