for me it was like white cracks.. how to describe it, it's like some residual of some white matarial that cracked the trim and left some residual, but actually it can be removed by polish as it was said... needs some serious rubbing, but it is gone

BMW even had an SIB 515302 on it that recommended the Mequire's stuff. Check the tips page for it.

That Meguiar's stuff works great. I had the rainbow-effect on all of my black trim and it cleaned it up very easily. It's been about a year now and still looks great!

It does work but it does put in micro scratches on the finish that you can see in sunlight (at least that is what I surmised after looking at it - it could've been there before on my car). I wouldn't get too hung up on it as the rainbowing / white residue from car washes is more annoying (IMO).

This is only a problem with the Sport models.

This should'nt occure if the surface is cleaned up front.

If there is dust or gravel on the polish pad, it could cause scratches.

I used suggested megular stratch x worked on the rainbow effect but I can still see like dull areas no a brillant finish I am reluctant to use a polish wheel afraid of jacking up trim I used a terry cloth but it looks like I need to use something more agressive any suggetion
