03 door automatic door unlock

I have a 2003 4.4i and I find it annoying that you have to pull on the door handle twice to exit the vehicle. The first pull unlocks the door and the second pull opens the door. Is there a way to have the doors automatically unlock when you turn the ignition off?

Ask the dealer. It's possible to disable the auto lock feature altogether but i'm not sure if it's possible to set it to unlock when the ignition is turned off.
