Yes, I know but since the USA never got that model I can't know for certain. A best estimate would be that the diesel was facelifted either at the same time as the gas model or shortly thereafter, certainly not before.

Also pano-roof and I believe auto lock hatch started in mid-April 04. So you will see 04 with and without pano roof.

Well I've moved a little since my last post, decided on a face lift, and now considering a 55 high spec Sterling grey one and an 06 similar spec Toledo Blue one. Each have + & - with the 55 being lower mileage and exactly what I'm after - but the 06 is newer, £1k cheaper and only has one previous owner (the 55 has 3, and has put me off a tad).
Anything I need to be aware of for those years? Both are from a BMW dealer (different ones) |

One issue you may wish to take into account is that at some point BMW introduced the M57TU2 or M57N 3.0D engine. I have an O6 South African spec and it has the M57N engine which is 160Kw and 500Nm. The earlier versions, even though face lift models, came with a 150Kw and 480Nm engine. I have no idea when these engine upgrades came out in the UK, but you may want to check in the owners manuals of the vehicles you are looking at. IMO the 160Kw is worth looking for!

Are these two cars diesels? Also, what are their production dates?

Yes. Mine was built 11/03 with a M57N engine (the engine size is 2993 c.c as opposed to the 2975(?) c.c. of the older model) and "facelifted". The other giveaway is that it has 6 steptronic speeds instead of 5 of the older model.
