I already have all the other stuff (panel, vapor barrier, etc.) out of the way. Thanks! imbvl - '01 X5 4.4, 85K miles |

Since you are already down to it, you can simply remove the motor from the regulator via the 3 T30 torx screws. With that removed the window should be able to be pushed down manually.

not sure, but it could also be something wrong with the track for the regulator cables, where the motor works, but there could be a kink in the cable path.
however, if the window is stuck up, most likely it's some sort of motor issue, especially if there are no noises coming from within the door when you press the button. |

had my new regulator with motor installed today (passenger front)
guy installed it for $65, which i thought was a good price. Considering when i called the Dealership they said $208 for the install (labor only). i had to ride around for a week with the window down and it's been 100 degrees here the whole time with no rain, thankfully. |

Thanks, all. I took the motor out, and then I could push the glass down. Taking the motor out wasn't easy - would have liked to have had a very small, very smart monkey with strong hands and two elbows. So then I was able to get out the regulator assembly - it was OK. New motor, easy assembly, and I'm on my way! Thanks, guys.
