CD changer connection missing?

I couldn't find any connector for a CD changer in the trunk and I also checked the CD unit and has to connector in the small connector which makes me think my car is not wired for CD changer. I also don't have the MODE option on my radio. Have you seen this? Is this common or possible? I thought that all BMWs come pre-wired for CD changer. Not that I need to install a CD changer but I was looking into an AUX Input and my CD unit (front) does not have the pins for that. The only work around was the CD changer mode. Any thoughts?

I am by no means an expert but I did install the oem cd changer in my 2005 X5. The wires should be tucked underneith kind of shoved down under the floor in the back left corner panel. If you search on youtube for bmw x5 oem cd changer install you can find tutorials that will show you exactly where they tuck the wires away to if there is no cd changer and what they look like

hope that helps

Thanks guys for trying to help. Here is the back of the CD unit which has the main connector and on the bottom there are two small ones. In my case I do not have pins on the small right and I do have pins on the left one but there was not harness connector on it which makes me think that the car was not pre-wired for CD changer. To my looks like the only option I have is to get a CD53 with AUX pins.

The rest of the pictures are from the trunk harness.

Does your X have a Sirris radio installed? If it does, your CD connection may be getting used for the Sirris radio. That's what happened to me.

After trying two different CD changers and not being able to release the CD cartridge, I knew something had to be funky.

The dealer found that the previous owner had installed a Sirris radio using the CD changer connection, which disabled the CD changer. The kicker was, the previous owner had removed the Sirris radio and left no proof of it's existance.

Hope that helps
