Some Mods I've Done to Date...

Well, I've profited greatly from this site with the wealth of information that is graciously shared among the members. So, now I want to share some of the few mods I've made to date. Granted, I still have a couple more major mods to do (adding style 214 wheels and OEM running boards), but those may wait until next Spring.

Below is a list of what I have done to my 2002 3.0i (with 59,000 miles). Hope you all like them. Plus any constructive feedback is certainly welcome:

- Invision DVD headrests (thanks, Law!!!)
- BMW Chrome exhaust tips
- LED tails from Zomk Speed
- LED sidemarker from Bimmian
- DEPO angel eyes from fishcake on Ebay (with 6000k Xenon HID lights, projector lenses, auto-level, chrome turn signal bulbs)
- BMW Non-smoker ash tray replacement (http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...tallation.html)
- BMW rear sun shades (http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...es-bmw-x5.html)
- BMW Side window rain deflector set
- BMW sunroof wind deflector

Nice mods and rare colour... Is that gray-green? I think it is the same as my E46.

I like the taillights and headlights. How is the brightness of the angel eyes vs say some of the CCFL kits out there? I'd like to be able to put in 6000k angel eyes, but so far all the aftermarket headlights kits i've seen come w/ angel eyes already installed A friend of mine installed some aftermarket headlights w/ angel eyes that are LED, and they're stupidly dim..like entirely unvisible in the daytime like stock BMW's have nowadays. They also are already having condensation problems. I don't know which seller he used, but I hope it's not the same ones that made you're headlight kit.

I've looked around for taillights too. Does anyone make a CELIS style taillight like on the newest X5/5/7's? Also, do you get any signal warning lights from using LED tails and sidemarkers?

Essam: Yes, it is gray-green. And it certainly looks like the same color as your E46. It came with a different interior color leather though. It is some color between biege and gray, which meant the Invision headrests needed to be dyed to match better. Aceducey really pulled through for me there!!!

m5james: Thanks. The AEs are not as bright as the CCFL options out there but I could not find a headlight assembly with CCFL that I liked. However, they can still be seen pretty well during the daytime.

LeMansX5: Thank you!

X Foomph: Thank you!

MINz guy: Thank you! That's why I love this forum. I was able to make a few small cosmetic upgrades that instantly makes it look much newer. Can't beat that!

mrbmwx5: Thank you!

mtX5: I got them installed in the middle of last week from the same person who hard-wired the DVD headrests to the cold source for me.

I cannot wait to upgrade the wheels. That will definitely take even more years off the vehicle.
