Other BMW wheels fit? 740 etc...

Do wheels from other BMW/cars fit, such as 740's or range rovers or other?
Is it just a difference of offset which can be appealing if it widens the stance of he car (no need for spacers)?
thx

No - see your local dealer, he has a catalogue for OEM BMW wheels - in there is listed which wheels fits which vehicle

I don't know if it is because of bolt patterns or what? - Anyone know?

be sure to read the fine print as some wheels will not fit the 4.6 & 4.8 because of their larger brake rotors
