mysweetX5, thanks for explaining in details. My confusion here is WHY '04 -'06 yr models don't have this AUX fan which is found in front of the radiator like pre-facelifted yr models?

Unhappy

Some 2004 X5 4.4i have the Aux fan, but some don't have it.
Due to my research, it seems to be an option on certain models/years.
And most of them seems to be found on 2004 X4 3.i) instead of 4.4i
But I do find aux fan for your 2004 X5 4.4i. (mine is a 2001 4.4i)
and I have the Aux fan in front of my radiator.

See pictures below:
One 2004 X5 3.i that has the Aux fan
another 2004 X5 4.4i that do not carry it.
