xenon fogs get too hot? is this okay?

I just installed a Philips 6000K HID kit in my 2004 4.8is. I notice that foglight housing in getting very hot.

I know the housing is designed to take the heat, but will the xenon bulb be okay to operate in the hot housing? I read that the bulb could explode if it gets too hot and damage the foglight housing??

Can other X5 owners who have done this mod, please check to see if your housing gets hot after 20 minutes of using.

Thank you, I searched the forum, but did not seem to find the right answer.

Regards,
Hyder
