X5 is making a squeaky noise in the rear and is not shock

X5 is making a squeaky noise in the rear and is not shocks, It usually happens when i go over bumps, or if i open my rear door and bounce near the back. I took to mechanics, they said shocks is good and can't pinpoint the problem, has anyone any Idea where I can tell them where too look, as you can see I am doing their job now..

You have to lift it up, and check for the wheel if the wheel is loose than your lover control arm is the problem verry common.

Also try to spray lubrication on where the big is spring seatting.

Hope this will help

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Also have them check the lower ball joint in the rear suspension as well... it would be #2 in this link.

Sounds to me like it's time to find a more qualified shop, maybe one with extensive BMW experience as they would know more about where to look.

I had a similar issue and found out it was coming under the rear floor cover (located where the spare tire sits). There's two clips which hold the cover and if you push down on the floor cover, these two clips would make this squeaky sound. It wouldn't hurt to check these out...

Is the squeak definitely coming from under the vehicle? The back glass/hatch has been known to rattle and squeak when hitting bumps. Just adjust the bump stops on either side, that's something I've done and it got rid of those noises.

Try some spray grease around those subframe bushes, they can squeak when they start to fail.
