I just came from the lot where it sat...very nice X. It appears to need rubber all around and rear brakes. Carfax said it was a company lease vehicle. I also did an auction check and found that the dealer paid $29,600 at auction for the vehicle (bought in west palm beach fl just 3 days ago). I imagine he will price it somewhere between 34-37K when he actually prices it. I'll take the VIN to my friends at the BMW store on Monday and see what's stored in the BMW maint. system.

I'll keep the thread updated

found it

06 4.8is with 41,578 miles (he did a post sale inspection and it passed) those brakes can not be that bad..
Must be a good truck because the auction will buy it back till 7 days after auction ends(post sale inspections assure dealer that it will not fail within 7 days or money back)...

That's it...I'm really curious where he prices it. He typically marks them 4-6k above what he paid at auction (he usually doesn't have a car this rare though). Can't wait to drive it.

Forgot to mention...the black shadow line trim looks like crap. Discolored, don't know how it will clean up. What causes the trim to turn out this way? My trim (2001 4.4 sport) looks brand new.

remember he owns that truck for 30k after auction fee and the inspection fee.....

im sure he will take 33k... times are tough and if he can flip it fast he would instead of paying ads and weekly cleanings...

Just remeber you can buy a 2007 x5 for 35k... So dont get too crazy about the 4.8is.. Your money might be safer on a 2007 if you ask me.

2 cents from a NJ dealer

that should be the last thing you should worry about on that truck.. Worry about how much warranty is left.. i heard the discolor of the shadow lines is due to car washes-

Wouldn't it be nice if it already had the ext maint plan? I doubt it but I can sure hope.

DSM you mention looking for a 2007 X5...I've actually been lusting after a 2006 750. I know that's going to upset the X5 gods but I recently drove an 04 745LI and was very impressed. With the 7 series redesign this year the 06s that come off lease later this year should be priced very attractively.

Thanks for your input

If you must place your marriage in jeopardy, why not go for a car with lower mileage for a better price:

2006 X5 4.8is for $37,990 Mileage: 33,574

why not just have someone go to an auction and pay them. it will be cheaper than the dealer. or tell him u like it, but don't like (whatever) about it. then ask if he will go to auction for you.

he won't want to do the extra work and he already has one for sale, soo price comes down for you.... you have info that many others don't...

My E70 plans are over.. i found what i really wanted a 07 E63..

i still have my X5 but i have to fix a door on it because a taxi cab hit it. i still love my X..

i have a 4week old baby girl and the E63 is not to roomy for all the stuff that needs to be carried so thats where the X comes into play..
