Just Moved to Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been a while since I have posted but I am finally done moving and started working in Chicago.

Can anyone recommend a good independant shop that does work on our X5?

Also, I need to invest in a floor jack to swap out my summer wheels to winter wheels. Any suggestions of a good floor jack that can handle 4,000 lbs?

Thanks!

Thanks Werewolf, Chicago is absolutely beautiful in the summer and has a lot of great things to offer. I am sure my tune will change in 6 months.

Killcrap and themoth, thanks for the offer and recommendation. I will keep them in mind for any maintenance I need on the X5.

Seconded. Gearhead does the work on my 528, and any out of warranty work on my X5. Talk to Dan when you call. Fortunately I live close enough to walk home from their shop, but they're across the street from the Metra station for others.

Here's some good advice from one of our members.

To the OP: I'd GOOG "BMW repair shops", in your area and,
also walk up to any BMW/PCar owner and ask where they get
their work done, (skipping Biff & Buffy parked in front of the
"Nails Done" shop ).

Also, if you are a member of BMW CCA, their local monthly
rag for your area, will have Indie ads.
